Journey Towards Redemption and Fulfillment

Review of Crossroads; Mohit Badoni; Koncept Books 2012

– Ranjitha Nair

Mohit Badoni’s Crossroads is all about the various stages of a guy’s life. The author has beautifully written how Rajesh, a giggling stream who sings to the tune of life with dream in his eyes becomes Major Rajesh, a tough army guy.

In the first part of the book, we see how Rajesh makes friends with Durga, Arjun, and does things to impress the love of his life, “Cloudie” (Megha) in his college life, just to lose them at the crossroads of his life.

Later on, in Raipur, he bonds with the locals, especially Diya who instills a new hope of love in him. As life moves ahead he joins the Army, fights against anti-national elements and receives two gallantry awards for his bravery but loses his best friend Durga. Not able to cope with the loss of his friend he decides to quit the Army and move to the Queen of Hills Mussoorie, a journey towards redemption and fulfillment.

Overall, it is an interesting read about the emotional zigzag of a young mind from a carefree young chap to a tough army guy and back to the same Rajesh.

Author has spun a yarn beautifully which can easily catch a fancy of any readers mind. Good job done by Mohit Badoni. Book has really touched my nerve and shows a complacent protagonist in the end.Wishing the author, good luck and success in his life

A wonderful work of fiction, had me gripped and enchanted till the very end.
One of those books, which keeps you hooked because you want to know what happens next. In my opinion if an author succeeds in keeping the reader engrossed – he has achieved his mission. Well done Mohit and I hope to read much more of your work.
