Prem Rao’s Colonel Belliapa – A Memory

Colonel Belliapa (Retd), the protagonist in Prem Rao‘s It Can’t Be You.., came to mind recently, when I saw a few name-boards on house gates in Kodagu (Coorg). Especially so because a few members of the extended family have plans to join the Indian Army. Army men, like Belliapa himself, serve the country most of their lives, and when they return home, it’s a totally different world out there. But this fact doesn’t change the minds of young men and women who yearn to join the prestigious organisation.

Thank you, Shana. What a nice thought. As an author it is very gratifying that people still remember characters from your book:)
